EVERY WORK, EVERY PROFESSION MATTERS

SIMPLY BECAUSE OUR WORK ISN’T QUANTIFIABLE, DOESN’T MEAN IT’S NOT SERVING HUMANITY.

With the most awaited SSC results,  the next followed was the great decision of choosing the route for our destination’s journey. Yes, Indeed the choice between the trio science, commerce and arts. And myself being a commerce student at present, I had aspired a long back to be a Chartered Accountant.

But the scenario that followed after my preference for Commerce stream was totally disappointing. Everybody seemed to have passed the same dialogue, “Scoring so good in SSC, you would have better opted for Science”. This sentence surprised me. Does scoring good means opting for Science? Does every student strive studying hard for only going to Science stream? Every person has its own priorities and career dreams. And every particular field has its own importance. Are Commerce students who have succeeded becoming Chartered Accountants much more less than the so called Science opted Doctors and Engineers. Why does being a Commerce student slay? This ecosystem of professions is interrelated deeply.

A hotel built by Civil Engineer needs a Commerce student for management issues! And Yes ! You would find various such examples wherein Commerce students have proved their dignity.

But what I feel is that the discrimination should be stopped.  Each of the faculties have their own significance and importance. The thinking of our society goes in such way that.. All of the “intelligent” students opt for Science, the “average” ones for Commerce and the “poor” ones go for Arts. Like seriously?? I genuinely feel that Science, Commerce and Arts should be treated equally. Neither Science students should be treated as superior nor the students belonging to Arts faculty as inferior!!!

If you are a SSC student, you know the struggle is real! I’ve been through the same but in my case, my parents wanted me to take commerce but my love for chemistry made me pursue Science and I don’t regret it even a bit!

Sometimes, you’ve got to be confident about the decisions you make for your future! If you believe in yourself and your decision, you should be strong enough to stand up and fight for yourself rather than repenting later for not being brave enough to go with what your heart said.

Hope you like this blog post. I find it quite interesting and to be looked upon. Thank you for your precious time reading this blog. Love you all. xoxo – Bareen.
