About Herb Island:
At Herb Island, we believe in borrowing from nature rather than looting it of all its richness. We don’t see ourselves simply as manufacturers, rather, we facilitate the transformation of nature’s creation into a slightly easier to consume form. To manufacture, would mean to create something that would be artificial. Our philosophy is that of poeisis – A Greek word that represents the idea of bringing forth – we only reveal the gift of nature, in an easy to use form. We work with nature, not against it, to bring you a product free from violence. Violence: neither against nature, nor against your body. Our products have the protective touch of Mother Nature – no Paraben, no SLS and no Formaldehyde.
We harvest our high quality, natural ingredients in a completely green and sustainable manner. Fresh extracts used in our products ensure super foods that are true to their elementary self – just as intended by nature. Our products are free from genetically modified and chemically enhanced ingredients. We also do not add any harmful fillers or synthetic bases like Petroleum based oils, which can be terrible to the human body in the long run. Just natural herbs and organic ingredients.
To ensure consistency of our offering, we ensure that all our suppliers of raw materials also share our philosophy. This leads to a high degree of quality right from the start, to the point when you get our product.

Review:
Packaging:
The packaging of their complete collection is quite the same. Similar to their oil, this shampoo has the same plastic bottle packaging with gold coated plastic cap. Whether you could see or not, the labeling is a bit dirty. As I have mentioned in last posts, I like good laminated labels so water doesn’t ruin it. Being an international brand, I expected some better quality of packaging. Nonetheless, it’s very economical and travel friendly.
Usage:
You can use this same as any other shampoos. I usually use anti dandruff shampoos just on the scalp and not on the entire hair as they have a tendency to rip your hair of moisture. But as the name suggests, it’s moisturising on hair and didn’t make my hair dry or frizzy. But if you have extremely dry hair, stick using just on scalp.
Consistency and texture:
The consistency of this shampoo is a bit thin compared to other shampoos, which I like as it spreads easily all over. The colour of this shampoo silky pink which is very pretty. I always test how good a shampoo is by it’s ability to break down oil easily. This gets all the oil out in 1-2 washes which is good. It’s not heavy on the hair and washes off quickly.
Fragrance:
This has a mild earthy scent to it which was not what I expected. I wish it had scent of exotic flowers as the name suggests. Most shampoos leave a hint of fragrance in your hair after wash but this doesn’t.
Final Verdict:
I’m in a search of finding the best anti dandruff shampoo for so long and this is a great one! It does not get rid of dandruff completely but if you have mild dandruff, this is perfect for you. It also gets rid of itching caused by dandruff and sweat which I like because who wants to scratch their head off all the time, right? If you have severe dandruff problems then I would highly suggest you go to a doctor because trust me, nothing else will work. This shampoo is ideal for summers.
Pros:
- Not very expensive.
- Travel friendly.
- Gets rid of mild dandruff and itchiness.
- Cruelty free, Vegan, Natural.
- Not heavy on hair.
- Mildly fragrant.
Cons:
- Needs better packaging.
- Not suitable for extremely dry hair.
