Top 5 Favorite Foundations

Hello buddies! I just thought of taking a break from sponsored posts and do something which you guys were interested to see. So I posted a poll on twitter on which top 5 series post you wanted to see and it was the closest fight. I decided to do this regularly so make sure to leave your requests for top 5s’ below.

Before starting, I’d like to mention that these are my current favs. There are many more foundations in the market which I haven’t tried and may be better than these. So these are just my preferences, which I liked for my skin, thoughts on this may vary from person to person. These are in no particular order. So lets get to my current top 5 foundations.

Loreal Nude Magique Cushion Dewy Glow Foundation: Golden Beige:

Finish: Dewy.

Coverage: Light to Medium.

Availability: Nykaa.

Marketed as True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation in India.

Price: 1250/-

Suitable for: Normal to Dry Skin.

So I had reviewed this long time ago before it was even launched and I wasn’t a huge fan of it as I was more into matte foundations. But now that I’m open to try dewy looks, this is what I go for. I carry it in my bag for quick touch ups as the compact form makes it super convenient to carry around and use. I don’t like the sponge that comes with it and prefer a brush or beauty blender. It’s a bit up there in price but Loreal is my favorite brand for foundations which you’ll know by end of this blog. My mom enjoys this more than me as she has dry skin and loves that extra glow. Not long stay time. Needs to be heavily powdered.

Mac Studio Fix Foundation: NC 40:

Finish: Natural (Slightly Matte)

Coverage: Medium to Full.

Availability: Nykaa.

Price: 2450/-

Suitable for: All Skin Types.

NC40 is my summer shade and goes a bit dark in winter.

When many people swear by a product, it has to be great. This was in my wishlist ever since I fell in love with makeup and I got this as a gift on my Birthday and I was in heaven. This is by far the best foundation I’ve ever tried. I know it’s a bit up there in price and has quite flaws too, I love it. It’s the foundation I wear for shoots and important occasions. You can build up the coverage and still this won’t look like you are wearing anything. If you want the best foundation, better start saving for it. But if you are a beginner and don’t want to spend so much, I have something at half the price which will work just as well.

Amazing staying power. Water resistant. Can skip concealer. Doesn’t need much powdering.

Loreal Infallible 24H foundation: Radiant Beige:

Finish: Natural

Coverage: Medium.

Availability: Nykaa.

Price: 1325/-

Suitable for: All skin types.

I don’t know why everyone stopped talking about it as this was the only foundation people used when it was launched. I still love this and use it quite often. I’m almost done with this bottle. I’ve only 3-4 uses left out of it and this was my second bottle ( after my dad accidentally dropped the first one when it was half done). I’ll definitely repurchase it in near future. Amazing Stay time. Good for photography.

Milani Conceal+Perfect Foundation: 04 Medium Beige:

Finish: Natural ( Slightly dewy)

Coverage: Medium to full

Availability: Nykaa.

Price: 1250/-

Suitable for: All skin types.

This is another product which was hyped worldwide and my favorite youtuber swore by it and I was very keen to try it. When Milani launched in India I just bought this in haste without realizing that it wasn’t my shade. The shade is right but the undertone is pink which doesn’t look good on me and gives a white cast. I mix it in with my Mac studio fix or Mat magique to get the undertone right as both are quite yellow . My fav combo is with mat magique as it counter balances the slight dewiness.

It has amazing coverage and you can literally skip on concealer. It’s very hydrating and lasts a good amount of time. May require to set with lots of powder.

Loreal Mat magique 12H foundation: G3:

Finish: Matte

Coverage: Medium.

Availability: Nykaa.

Price: 595/-

Suitable for: Normal to Oily.

I love how Loreal has different ranges under their range. Like Infallible is a bit pricy but mat magique is quite affordable but both are of equal great quality. I love their complete mat magique range, it’s perfect for my oily skin.

I can’t say about any other foundations but I can say for sure that, everytime I go through this foundation, I’ll buy more because I use it for so many different reasons. No doubt I use this as a foundation but on lazy days, I just use this as a tint all over the face and I’m good to go. As this is very yellow foundation, I use this as my concealer on regular basis. I use this to set my concealer as it is yellow and matte and doesn’t let my concealer crease. I use this over my pigmented area to cancel out darkness. I’m about to finish my second tube and already got back up. It’s long lasting and travel friendly. Strongly suggest dry skin people to stay away from this product.

Bonus: Maybelline Fit Me Foundation:

Sorry, I wanted to include this in the list but I lost my foundation few months ago while traveling.

Whenever someone asks me for good foundation for beginner, I suggest this with my mat magique. This is very affordable, easily available and maybelline is everyone’s fav brand. They have amazing shade range and suites every skin tone though marketed as Matte and for oily skin.

So there you have it. I really apologize for bad photography as I’m having issues with my camera and my site hosting. Will be back with better photos in next blog.

Let me know your favorite foundations and I’ll try to test them. Also do let me know if you have tried any of this and what are your thoughts on them.

Thank you for your time. Till next time, stay healthy. Love you all. xoxo- Bareen
